Kindergarten and 1st Grade Assignment #12

Insect Habitats
Objective: Students will paint a picture of various insect habitats.
Materials: construction paper, paint/ brushes, water cups.
Procedure: After reading “The Ant Bully,” we will discuss the ways artists can make objects that are usually small appear bigger. Students will then paint an environmental backdrop for the insect that they will illustrate the following week.
Assessment: A=follows ALL instructions (or does more) with great craftsmanship B=follows MOST instructions with good craftsmanship C=follows SOME instructions with good craftsmanship D=does little work/ poor effort F=does NO work
